It’s Really Not Such a Burden

northern exposures

1st-snow-1116The tracks in the previous post are either squirrel or weasel. My wood savvy students say they are weasel and that is good enough for me.

Most of our spruce are the black variety. White spruce are supposed to grow here, but I have yet to find one. This little one cradles the first snowfall of our winter.

I saw my friend Keith yesterday. If you remember from a previous post, he was certain it wasn’t going to snow, so I asked him if he was enjoying this proof of winter. Well, it snowed, he allowed, but he can’t get across the slough because it isn’t frozen over, and he is sure it won’t until spring.

There may be no pleasing Keith this winter.
