Porcupine Reflections

northern exposures

A forgotten image from my trip up the Porcupine. The colors exist now only in this picture, and in my memories. I’m not sure which will prove to be more lasting. Or perhaps I do but don’t want to accept my own conclusion.

  1. Fall, for me, has always been the most beautiful time of year here in Alaska because it is a doorway to winter. It has colors like no other season and harkens the arrival of the silence of the frozen winter landscape. Oh and yes we may in our mind forget the colors of fall but the experience of living among them will linger forever in our soul.

    1. Tim, thank you very much. I’ve often wondered if the impressionist movement began with someone trying to capture the reflections in water. Best wishes.
