Canadian Flower: What Is It?

northern exposures

We found this all over Canada, from Alberta to the Yukon Territory. It is extremely fragrant, like alyssum. Maybe 6 – 30 cm tall (3 to 12 inches). Blossoms about 2 cm diameter (3/4 inch). Spreading nature. I can’t identify it and hope that someone can tell me what it is. Any ideas?
