Track II

northern exposures

Nine below. Daylight: 9 hours 34 minutes.

Update: A hunter told me today what these are. They’re Willow Ptarmigan tracks. I thought they might be!

These are odd tracks. I don’t know what they are, but it is the first time I have seen them. They are headed toward the slough just beyond the willows.

  1. Ahh, a mystery! I have no experience in identifying animal tracks, but that is a rather interestingly shaped footprint!
I hope somebody can help out!
Nice diagonal in your composition, by the way!

    1. Thanks, Steve. I’ve been thinking its maker might have been a ptarmigan but hate to sound really dumb if it turns out to have been made by some four footed mammal.

    1. Thank you, 7thheaven for following my blog. My place is certainly different from yours! I just saw your photograph Will and Courage – that is really great!

  2. This is a mystery… but when I looked carefully, it can be seen like a Ptarmigan’s track… But in the backs… the nearest one… is a big track and what happened there 🙂 to sat down… Thank you dear Dave, with my love, nia
