life in a village

Snow. First flurries this morning. Brief ones, but the sight pumped up my 7th graders who had to take a moment off to hang out our window for a better look. We haven’t any air conditioning, so our windows are the old fashioned kind that can really open and let kids hang out. Each week is noticeably colder and darker than the one before, and it is overcast much of the time.

If you see words you don’t recognize at the top of a post, they are Athabascan words translated for you in the first line.
