What My Kids Want

life in a village, Reflections

Every year Native Alaskans receive a dividend check from the state that could amount to $1000 or more for each man, woman and child. This is not the dividend check that Lindsay and I will qualify for. This one is for Native Alaskans only. Dividends come in early October, and today my 7th graders were all excited and talking about them as if it were Christmas. I was curious what they would do with their money, so I asked them to write up a wish list of things they would like to get. Here and in the next two posts I’ll share three of their lists, just as my students wrote them.
